The School Licensed Practical Nurse Ambulatory provides health services to facilitate optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development for students within the schools. Cares for students with chronic health issues and helps identify health needs during the course of the school day. Provides health education, medication management, emotional support and referral to higher levels of care based on student needs. Supports the education process by working to assure the health of the students. Promotes healthy habits and overall health to strengthen maximum learning. The school nurse position is located on the north side in Indianapolis, Indiana with Lawrence Township School District. The school nurse will float to all of the schools in Lawrence Township School District.
-Graduate of a recognized accredited school of practical nursing, or have three years related professional nursing experience. Current Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
-One year or more of nursing experience required.
-Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.
